FAQs
Small typos lead to great things. It was during a routine mid-morning email thread that "iCrops," spelling error turned community initiative, was born. The premise was simple: find a way to bridge the gap between nutritious food and accessibility.
iCrops is more than just a typo - it's a promise to embody our philosophy to the fullest. When you donate to iCrops, you create a sustainable and recurring opportunity for gardeners to share their harvest with local food pantries.
Whether you're an iCorps employee, client, or supporter, you can become part of our growing community to help feed people and change lives! Donate to iCrops by clicking the link below, or texting "iCrops" or "iCorps" to 44321 to receive a donation link.
AmpleHarvest.org is a unique nationwide resource that eliminates food waste, the outcome being a reduction in hunger and malnutrition and an improved environment. It is accomplished by utilizing the Internet to enable 42 million Americans who grow food in-home/community gardens to easily donate their excess harvest to one of over 8,000 registered local food pantries spread across all 50 states. These food pantries help nourish the one out of six Americans (including a quarter of all kids under six) that rely on these pantries.
TEDxManhattan “Changing the Way We Eat” was a one-day TEDx event that explored the food system — from the Issues to the Impacts to Innovation as we shift to a more sustainable way of eating and farming. The goal of “Changing the Way We Eat” is to create new synergies, connections, and collaborations across disciplines, unite different areas of the food movement, and introduce the TEDx audience to the exciting and innovative work done in this field. The Glynwood Institute for Sustainable Food and Farming is the lead sponsor for TEDxManhattan.

According to the USDA, 30-40% of our annual food supply is wasted. That translates to 133 billion pounds of food, valued at $161 billion. How can we help eliminate food waste? By delivering it to the people that need it most!
